For the whole week, I was in self deception. But at least it really got me through the week. I told myself that the socceroos were still in Singapore and believed that they would only leave today (yeah, even though their first match is against Oman on Sunday) when in fact the Australia team had already left for Bangkok on Wednesday.
Now that I've seen Harry play 'live', a step closer would be to get within 3m of him. I tell myself it's possible. After all, I was an arm's length away from Westlife at the airport when they came! As for Westlife, my next step is of course to get their autograph and a photo taken with them.
And you know, there are too many if's once again. If not for O's, I would definitely have gone to the airport. If not for O's, I might have gone to the hotel. If not for this... if not for that... I guess I'm not hardcore enough.
To the socceroos, Good luck at the Asian Cup!

I'm starting to regret not staking out at the airport yesterday to welcome him. But I have no connections and that means no way of finding out what flight he's on, which terminal or even the arrival time. There's no way I'll be allowed to spend my last Sunday before term starts hanging around the airport anyway. I heard those who turned up got to get his autograph and pictures taken. I envy them. No luck for Westlife, now no luck for Kewell either. It's about time my unlucky streak ran out.
Going back to school was a dreadful feeling. It always is, isn't it? But it being the first day of second semester, there wasn't much time for lessons. The teachers gave us the usual pep talks again and there were many changes to the staff as well. We have new Eng and Chem teachers. I have a new Math teacher too since I've moved over to Mr Lau's class for Math. None of our mock exam papers have been returned and as I'd predicted, our timetable changed. Well that's about it, rather boring really. But not that I expect school to be more interesting anyway...

Basically 1st day was slack. Ice breakers, packing of food and store equipment, basics of kayaking. Halfway disrupted by thunderstorm. Sat under the shelter next to the kayak racks learning how to tie knots and had a look inside the yellow medic bag. I love kayaking man! Was afraid that we wouldn't have any more chances to kayak the next few days. At night did outdoor cooking and slept outside. Couldn't pitch tents cos it was still raining heavily. Yong Kang was our trainer and throughout the camp, he called us princess in this sweet singsong voice.
2nd day. Set off on a short walk to the other campsite. The one that looks like a chalet with all the height elements also. Took us 101 steps to reach the other camp's boundary - I actually bothered to count. Did trust fall and belaying, then the high high rope elements tower. Yong Kang said can see Singapore from the top. Wth. Ate food served at the canteen for dinner. Not bad. At night shared a tent with Elsa, Jeslyn and Elo. The 3E tent. Haha.
3rd day. Land expedition. Embarked on 'Amazing Ubin' which is actually a form of The Amazing Race. The checkpoints were our pitstops and there was a roadblock where a pebble toss game would be played. There were a few fastforwards which entitled us to skip some checkpoints if found. Things like "8 rubber seeds" and "5 golden web spiders" are examples. I found most of the rubber seeds yay. Then change of plans. Yong Kang gave us the option of racing to the roadblock - our finishing line to win the Race, or visiting the lemon aunty. We chose the latter. We were all dying from carrying the haversacks and tents etc. and would gladly like to see a new face and place instead of just jungle terrain. So Tenzing chose to give up the race but get to see more and have a richer experience by visiting the farm. Aunty's curry and lemongrass plants were damn fragrant lah! My antidrugs.
Then went to quarry where Hillary and Nila Utama - the other STC watches, already were. Passed by a buddhist temple where a monk let me carry his adorable puppy for a while! Did quarry jump and captain's ball in the water. Tenzing won! Set up camp a short distance away. Outdoor cooking again. I was like some maggie mee chef. Love cooking man. I was asking them whether there were some more packets of maggie to cook but they all thought I meant there was still some more maggie in the pot. So everyone stuck out their mess tins together all at the same time. So funny lah. Like some tribe rushing to get food lor. After that had to prepare for sea expedition the next day. Peed in the bushes before sleeping that night.
4th day. SeaEx!!! Was looking forward to it ever since I discovered my love for kayaking on the first day! But I missed Liling my kayaking partner. :/ Ended up kayaking with Chi. Was really damn fun despite getting so exasperated with her and we were sort of at loggerheads with each other the whole time. But at least we tried working together and a lot of lessons were learnt from it. Endurance, tolerance, cooperation and determination, to name a few. Being the navigator, I reached the shore first. Everyone had to wash the kayaks and stuff. Yong Kang was being retardedly funny with his "YAY I LOVE KAYAK! I WANT MORE KAYAKS!" in a very childish tone and he purposely sprayed us with the water hose so people would want to grab more kayaks to be hosed with the clean refreshing water again and again. Good ploy man. Shower and outdoor cooking. At night, pitched tents at the jetty area - same area where we camped out at SparkC. Stayed up the whole night chatting with Jeslyn, Elsa and Annabelle. Elo was fast asleep in our tent. Slept for 2 uncomfortable hours.
5th day. Mainly packing, then homeward bound! Glad or sad, I don't know. Maybe a little bit of both. Tenzing was like, hmm...would have been more fun if we were more united I guess. Very sad cos I think Yong Kang was quite disappointed but he didn't say? Hurts all the more. And like what lin says, the trainers get to impact our lives but we don't get to impact theirs as much. I think it's damn sad. He played a huge role in making our OBS journey a fun and enjoyable one. But you know what, no one even bothered to get his contact. No one bothered to find out more about him. I want to meet him again. And say sorry. And for once sit down and have a proper chat as a watch. Is it too late?

Lately my liking for Simple Plan has increased. I liked Pierre at first. He even shares the same birthday as me - so cool huh! But now I think I prefer Seb. I showed mum the backing of one of their cds and asked her who seems the nicest. She didn't like Seb. :/
Sorry's Not Good Enough isn't my favourite song from McFly's MITO album after all! It's Little Joanna! (: Ohh, the new Westlife B-sides are simply fabulous! I've been listening non-stop to them the past week. 1) If 2) Nothing's Going To Change My Love For You 3) Solitaire. Their cover of Solitaire I don't really like. Anyways, they were released along with Westlife's latest single The Rose! lovelove. :D
I'm watching Survivor now. It's amazing how I keep watching every season despite sometimes not even having any favourite contestant. When it's boring I might fall asleep but why do I even bother watching then? Don't know why. Haha.

Then Nic and I went to Clarke Quay in search of the Liverpool store. We found it! It's uber small please. What a let down. We're going again soon cos the lady said new stock will be arriving next week! The lady asked who our favourite players were and of course when I heard that question I started losing my speaking ability, so Nic said "for her, who else but the one and only...Michael Owen." PERFECT answer eh?! Heheh. So the lady started pointing out all the Michael Owen stuff but I ended up excitedly pointing them out to her instead cos I'd already spotted them. Figurine, wall clock, bath towel, bedsheet, VCR tape. If there was a Michael Owen t-shirt I would have bought it. We were all so amused by the Michael Owen towel and imagining what would happen if I brought it to camp.
Friday was spent staying at home. Had some things left to settle after what happened last week. The week after EOY exams, I tried watching some episodes of Goong to see what all the fuss was, but I really don't like it at all (sorry Goong fans!). Those parts without Shin, I found it so boring I kept yawning okay! So it's back to British shows for me yay! xP I watched a lot of Whose Line Is It Anyway? the past few days under the influence of Nic. It's super funny lah, kept laughing to myself like some weirdo. Ant and Dec / Little Ant and Dec are also damn funny. Those guys are so witty!
Thursday's Prison Break? Thank god NICK didn't die! I knew he wouldn't but anyway Prison Break never fails to make me sit on the edge of my seat! It's THAT interesting a show man. I also got to see one second of my favourite character at the start - the German Shepherd. Haha!

I've made up my mind to hang the mini basketball hoop on my door. THANKS SRI! :D First time I gave it a shot, I got 2 out of 3! The first shot missed. I played with my brother just now and it was hilarious. Because the ball is so small, it kept bouncing off and hitting very wrong areas when we tried to catch the rebound! I shot 4 consecutive from afar. My brother was amazed with my accuracy and tried copying my shooting technique. Still CMI. Hahaha. We sweat so much lah; it's a good way to exercise! We were so noisy and violent, I wonder if the neighbours living directly below will complain? xP
Uhm what else... I really want to get some stuff but the more urgent ones are: Westlife 2007 calender, Westlife's The Love Album, McFly's Motion In The Ocean, Liverpool jacket! Well that's about all. Haha.
By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOR!!

GOODBYE 3 ELIZABETH!
If I'm in 4E next year, it will mark 4 complete years - my entire secondary school years, in the St. Elizabeth classes. Pure Elizabethian blood! Haha. :D
I am utterly bored at home. I guess the entire holiday is going to be like that. You know, I've been reflecting and realise I stick by the same old friends all the time. Primary school I was "the quiet girl who's always with Kevy". Secondary school it's "the one with the tall girl" even in the teachers' eyes. Is everyone like that? Pat once said, "When you see Adela, you see Brina. When you see Brina, you see Adela." But to be honest that's not the case. There's Nic, Des, Sri, Regine, Lin and some of the 2E peeps. They're all awesome friends too. I'm one of those who have one bestie + a few close friends and I can't help it. Besides I don't feel that it's even a problem. Let fate take its course. So next time don't hesitate if you want to ask me out! xP
Wanted to ball with Sri but decided against it. Her mum's not very pleased about her going out so often. Next week okay! Suddenly I feel like going to Sentosa, just to
Went to Vivo yesterday with Regine, Kat, Sri, Lin and Adel. That place is huge and outside is just scenic! I'll bring a camera along on the next visit. I love the Adidas store. Liverpool Liverpool! Goodness. How I want to be rich. The jacket is S$80++. I want discount! Went to Kat's favourite Pull & Bear. I thought she said Polar Bear. :o Then at Toys'R'Us, I didn't get anything but saw my favourite childhood game - Hungry Hippo! Adel and I couldn't find TMNT figurines. Regine and I were interested in SeaMonkey but the price chased us away. Candy Empire - went back there later to buy colourful Rocky Mountain marshmallows. Found a Westlife Coast to Coast DVD at MJ. So that's another wanted item off my wishlist. Hoorah!
Sigh...I shall pack my room soon. It has to be done sometime anyway.

We've moved on because life has to go on. But I've been constantly thinking of those days. Regine cheekily showed me that date on her handbook. The memories may not be as fresh in the mind anymore, but they are still as impactful whenever I picture those days. That day preparing banners. That day and night at the airport. That day at the concert itself. They made us happy. They made our year. WESTLIFE 080906.
I had a scare last night due to some misunderstanding. Nic quickly informed me when she read this:

At Stadium I went to oogle at that Michael Owen wallpaper as always. Then I saw this pair of Vans that I like. Can't remember what colours it consists of but I'd recognise when I see it. All I know is that it has an orange stripe. Outside I was glancing back at the glass display when on the wall by the side, there were these three lighted advertising displays. I caught sight of the one in between. Guess who? Michael Owen advertising for those lovely Umbro boots. :D I ran in front of it to stare more closely and Adel and Des had to drag me away. Haiyah.
On the way to Far East, we popped by That CD Shop. There I managed to get WESTLIFE's first album!!! Like finally, after a few years of hunting. I was elated! Now my collection is complete -- I have every single Westlife album. Time to move on to my VCD/DVD collection. So far I only own 3: Where Dreams Come True DVD, Turnaround Tour DVD and The Greatest Hits Tour VCD. I really want the Coast to Coast VCD especially. It has this up close & personal bit where Shane was so cute when he was still in bed and grumbled about not wanting to wake up.
At Far East we walked around purposefully to find Cheeks. The ever-so-useful shop directory saved us. Cheeks was small and cluttered with loud blaring music. It had a life-sized skeleton outside and there were Halloween masks on display. We didn't want to go inside but entered anyway. We looked up and staring back at us were more gothic Halloween masks. When a particularly loud punk music was playing, the opening had gun shots and Des told us, "I'm scared." Haha! It was really quite freaky lah. The shirts they sold are damn cool. I almost bought a Simple Plan tee but 'Small' was too small and 'Medium' was too big for me. Adel bought a Hurley shirt, Des bought a necklace and I bought a bracelet similar to Harry's. The shop lady was friendly and plain nice.
We met up with Samme and Nicole to eat Sakae buffet at Wheelock. We're all so sick of sushi rice now but we made our money worth.
Today hung

My parents dragged me with them to Marina Square. Ate Unagi Bento and Mango Katsugori at a Japanese dessert place. Damn nice. I ended up buying 2 Adidas body sprays (not Sri's one!) and a long-sleeved tee for OBS and went home around 6. Then it was down to the gym with dad. Ran for 30min on the treadmill. The security guard came to check my age cos those under 16 can't enter unless accompanied by an adult. My brain slipped up. I told her I'm 14. Haha forgot lah.
Sun
Slept till noon and spent what's left of the afternoon watching Westlife. Kept grinning to myself. Every time I watch them I can't help but smile. It's evening now and I have no plans for later. Basically just hanging around online until bedtime I guess.
And for the rest of 2006...
1) Finish reading my Michael Owen autobiography.
2) Sakae with a few 3E peeps
3) HMV and Kino with Adel and Des
4) Visit the new Mighty Reds store with Nic
5) OBS (Nov 20th-24th)
6) More bball
7) Christmas shopping
8) Visit the zoo maybe?

I watched Westlife's upcoming new single The Rose on youtube. They sang at the Miss World pageant omg. I wish I'd watched it on Sunday night. They also sang You Raise Me Up and Shane was omg! hot for both performances. I love how he looks so passionate and focused while singing. Westlife's The Love Album will be released on Nov 6 and so will McFly's Motion In The Ocean. We're going to get them on that day. Hopefully we won't have to hunt.
I am kind of looking forward to OBS. It's thrilling. Also looking forward to everything I will be able to do more freely after EOYs (especially youtubing!). I'm also planning to start an exercise regime where I'll either play ball, gym or swim every morning/afternoon/evening/night. Maybe with Sri, Des and any others. I also owe Nic a skate date. I can't wait!! :D

♥ Reading into lyrics
Empty spaces fill me up with holes
Distant faces with no place left to go
Without you, within me I can't find no rest
Where I'm going is anybody's guess
[Chorus:]
I've tried to go on like I never knew you
I'm awake but my world is half asleep
I pray for this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I'm going to be is, incomplete
Voices tell me I should carry on
But I am swimming in an ocean all alone
Baby, my baby
It's written on your face
You still wonder if we made a big mistake
[Chorus]
I don't mean to drag it on
But I can't seem to let you go
I don't wanna make you face this world alone
I wanna let you go (alone)
[Chorus]
BSB - Incomplete
----------
Can't believe its over
That you're leaving
Weren't we meant to be?
Should've sensed the danger
Read the warnings
Right there in front of me
Just stop
Let's start it over
Couldn't I get one more try?
[Chorus:]
Maybe tomorrow you'll say that you're mine
You'll realize, I could change
I'm gonna show you I'm in it for life
I'll get you back someday
Maybe tomorrow
I forgot to be there
I was selfish
I can see that now
I should've got to known you
Should've held you
When your tears fell down
Just stop
Don't make me beg you
Tell me that you'll stay the night
[Chorus]
Wait a minute
Just hear me out
This time I promise, I'll put you first
Turn around now
Your heart can't let you walk away
I'll do what it takes
[Chorus]
There's so much I wanna say now
I just wanna make a life with you (don't walk away)
There's so much I wanna do now
I just wanna make love to you
Maybe tomorrow
Westlife - Maybe Tomorrow
----------
If you've even bothered reading through, you really rock! I shall now end with some one-liners.
"Even though you're near me, I need you far away..."
"I'll be broken, and I'll show it, but I'm gonna have to live without you here..."
"...for the first time it's not you who can heal me"
"But you would come around again, so my sorrow's gonna end..."
"For the rest of my days, in so many ways... you make me feel."

♥ Post-concert Vibes
Stage 1 - Hysteria
Stage 2 - Realising it's over
Stage 3 - Depression
Stage 4 - Losing it/Insanity
Stage 5 - Slowly getting sanity back
Sat/Sun (2/3) - Kept thinking of them and reliving the moments. Cried but that didn't last long. My mum found it amusing when she caught me stoning cos she thinks I'm lovesick thinking of them.
Mon (2) - People kept asking how the concert was. Of course it was brilliant and we spent the whole day recounting the happiest days of our lives. Westlife was in Life! but the journalist gave their concert a bad review. We were pissed off cos that's only her stinking opinion. She should have interviewed the fans.
Tue/Wed (3/4) - Being nonsensical in school. Every word we heard seemed to be somewhat linkable to Westlife. Learnt floorball for PE, ran during recess. Messed up bio prac which our class had no preparation for.
Thu (4) - ShNicky insanity. Kept laughing at the slightest things and just being weird especially during bio. Leng Shan and the hardworking chair lol. Having learnt that the faster the class responds, the fewer crunches/push-ups everyone has to do, 3E was most cooperative during today's PE lesson out of the entire year. Ran during recess, then played friendly 4-on-4 full court floorball game with 3D people. Won 4-1. Screwed all the calculations in chem prac after school.
Fri (4) - Went totally nuts! Insanity at its peak, nothing more to say.

♥ The Westlife Concert
Would you listen if I spoke from the heart?
08.09.06 Oh my god I had such an awesooome time yesterday. We went to Nic's house at 3 to pick up the banners and made our way to Kallang. From there, we took a cab to macs for dunch before cabbing to the indoor stadium. We started a queue at the premier entrance. Nic and Adel saw Andy Penders and the rest of the Football Crazy cast. Nic took a pic with him. Then Regine and Sylvia (and a guy friend of hers) joined us.
Shortly after, we heard SCREAMS. I swear I chalked up my personal best timing sprinting then. We missed seeing them arrive by a second. The 2 black mercedes were stationary there. Before we got in, we saw those lucky people with VIP passes, whom got them because they won contests on TV/radio. We had bag check before being allowed in. There was a mini setup selling official merchandise. Nic, Adel and I bought the tourbook, button badges and red shirt (everything but the pink shirt) before taking our seats at Block PB Row 2 Seats 8-11. And guess what? McFly's DON'T STOP ME NOW was played before the start of the concert!
When the lights went out everyone screamed excitedly. Westlife appeared and we completely lost it! People in the front row stood up and rushed to stand behind the barricade. I jumped over their seats to do the same. Adel, being the tallest, held the banner from time to time. Kian saw our irish banner which read "Is Gra Linn WESTLIFE!" (meaning We love Westlife!) and he winked at us. Afterwards Nicky saw it and saluted, THEN winked at us.
Adel mock-fainted and Nicky grinned. Mark kept squinting trying to read our banner. We may have read too deep into their thoughts, maybe not. I can't say I really saw all these because I wasn't keeping watch. I was snapping away with the camera the whole time since Adel forgot hers and Nic's ran out of batteries. Shane was focused and kept looking into the distance, appearing to be concentrating on the song. I hope he saw me though, the crazy girl clutching a camera and jumping up and down screaming his name. Adel and Nic were shocked because they say I'm gentle and I'm known to be pretty quiet! The years I spent screaming at my brother whenever he bullied me were put into practice.
Nic's dad (who was sitting away from us) claimed that the spotlight was shone on us. I think our banner was the only visible one in the dark seeing as we used luminous construction paper for the alphabets. I loved Shane's handstand which I didn't catch on camera because I was too mesmerized.
After the last song we immediately left the stadium. People along the way stared at us as we ran all the way to the car. Adel said Joe Augustine the DJ saw us too. A security guard was saying "you ren chong chu lai" (there're people rushing out) into his walkie-talkie.
Don't stop me now I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time just give me a call
Don't stop me now (cos I'm having a good time)
Don't stop me now (yes I'm having a good time)
I don't want to stop at all!
