Wow. Seeing as this blog hasn't been updated for an entire semester, I've dusted out the cobwebs and given it a new look. To whoever made the layout, thanks! I like the suitcase especially that little horsey in it. Colours are brilliant. If I know you and you've stumbled across this new post, I love and applaud you for being a loyal follower.
Last semester was hectic. I was studying on campus at Sentosa and naturally, being in a different environment meant that I had to adjust to new conditions. Sentosa is a place for playing and relaxing. I never got round to studying properly when I was there. I allowed my grades to slip. This is where I pick myself up. I'm aiming to be the same focused, motivation-driven individual I was in Year 1 when Sem 2.2 begins.
As with every term break, I've befriended the gym again. I'm hoping an overseas vacation comes my way so I can be rejuvenated. Oh, I'm crazily obsessed with Fringe, the tv series. It's another work of the great J.J Abrams who also produced Alias. You know, my heart breaks everytime I see Michael Owen in a United jersey. But as always, I will support him wherever he goes. This scenario just proves it.
As a kid, you always get asked what you want to do in life. Recently I've given my future some thought. My lecturers had advised against furthering our studies in tourism as a diploma is sufficient to join the industry. That piece of advice dashed my hopes of doing a degree in Adventure Tourism. Instead, I am now considering taking a degree in Animal Management after I graduate. So far the course at Kingston University and University of Chester appeals to me. Who's with me on this?
I've already caught 3 movies in the cinemas this break - The Proposal, Inglorious Basterds, and The Ugly Truth. Usually, chick flicks are not my cup of tea but The Proposal completely changed my perception of romance comedies. That movie definitely makes it as one of my all-time favourites, not to mention that the lead actor Ryan Reynolds looks very much like Owen. Inglorious Basterds was a bit gory but still entertaining to watch, especially with company like mine. Haha. I had high expectations for The Ugly Truth because everyone was raving about it, but it really let me down. The Proposal wins hands down!

So ever since the last time I posted, I've been up to a lot of things. I've received my Year One results, dropped by a class chalet, went to a concert, caught up with some secondary school friends, watched Marley & Me, Slumdog Millionaire, French movies on Okto, gymmed, baked, celebrated spectacular Liverpool victories and visited Sentosa.For this Mar/Apr school break, I've not been able to let my hair down because I'm taking a vacation-term CDS (cross-disciplinary subject) at school. It's called Global Citizenship. And apart from one-week long lectures and tutorials, there is a study trip to Beijing and Tianjin which required a huge amount of planning. Well the teachers did most of the planning, but we students were also kept busy preparing for a project presentation and our individual reflection reports. That said, I'm off to China from 29Mar-4Apr.
Yesterday while I was at Sentosa with Marianne, we took the skylift and luge. I spotted a few exotic birds nesting in the trees on the way up. As for the luge, I think I got more kicks out of the one in NZ. Then I conveniently decided to check out the Tourism Academy campus. I used my free access card for entry into Sentosa for the first time. (: Having worked at Sentosa before, Marianne doubled up as my tour guide.
Once there, we immediately got bitten by mosquitoes. We passed by the password-encrypted toilet. Haha. There's a heights element obstacle course in some part of the campus. And although the drinks vending machines in every other part of Sentosa are way overpriced, thank god the one inside the campus isn't.
Seeing as it's school break, I don't think I bumped into any student. But I saw the cleaning uncle and aunty sitting at the canteen, the chef returning to his office, a couple of tourists lingering around, and possibly some teachers walking by every now and then. We didn't wander long because we were feeling warm, sticky and itchy.
Then on 5th March, I saw this guy perform live in Singapore for the second time:

It was beyond awesome. I don't think it's necessary for me to explain why. Anyway when I like a band, I go all out to enjoy myself. Some people don't get why others would pay so much just to watch a music gig live. I say they're missing out on the thrill, the fun and the atmosphere. J began by getting us hyped up on Dynamo of Volition, then in no particular order, Geek in the Pink, You and I Both, Lucky (with Joi Chua), Sleeping To Dream, Make It Mine, No Stopping Us, A Beautiful Mess, Who Needs Shelter, Live High, I'm Yours, and The Remedy.
Towards the end, J played my favourite Mr. Curiosity opera style! (Y) Most people around me had already mellowed from exhaustion but I was really pumped. That was the only song in which he didn't play any instrument and was simply standing there grabbing the mic stand, singing his heart out. I'd watched a similar performance by him on Youtube but it still had that same amazing effect on me when I heard it. His high notes reverberated throughout the stadium, simply sensational. It took my breath away.
At the end of the last song, The Remedy, everyone chanted for an encore. Sadly but understandably, they didn't accede to that request.
Other thoughts:
1) If anyone from Sistic comes across this, hi! Next time allocate free standing please. Seats are redundant for a Jason Mraz live performance. Thank you!
2) They should have put up a Jason Mraz backdrop for him to perform against instead of the bare curtains.
3) Merch vendors, shirts at S$45ea? Too expensive.
4) Damn you, camera. (I was very mad that my photos wouldn't show up well in those poor lighting conditions, and in a fit of anger, got very determined to take up lessons on photography.)
5) If I were closer, I may have caught one of J's polaroids (it's a norm for him to snap instant photos of himself and his band and throw them into the audience).

All hail this film which is full of awesome. I hope it wins many Oscars. It went straight into my favourites list and I'm starting to wonder if any other movie will be able to beat this one in my lifetime. Truly a touching movie that can even move grown men to tears. I hope people who watch this movie get its literal meaning, can distinguish foreboding from humour, and are able to gain or be reminded of a new perpective of life. It's such a waste that I didn't think the young girl beside me understood the movie's true meaning.
Like Shakespeare's Macbeth, there is a jester in the movie. But the kiddo beside me was laughing at even the most inappropriate moments. It got annoying because she kept making senseless comments. I saw a grown man cry. I think my dad did too.
I highly recommend this movie.

Hi! Time for an update.

I officially hate my camera for constantly giving up on me. It stops recording by itself, cutting off my video abruptly. That would explain why I only ended up with short intros. Major disappointment, especially when most of the time it is the chorus that hits the climax of the song. I didn't put up a couple of videos because they're really short and kinda pointless for others to view.
Let's see what I've been up to... Sleeping in, reading, internet surfing and watching the telly or DVDs. Occasionally I do step out of the house to raid the library, shop, exercise or accompany Des on her study sessions. I'm back to youtube addiction. People, watch Wipeout! For now, gymming's taking a backseat as my gym's closed for repainting works. I re-watched Step Up and She's The Man. Those two are great movies I'd recommend.
She's The Man on DVD is awesome. 10x better then watching it on youtube. Fit guy-man aplenty. Love the special features segment, that's a bonus. Never realised I've watched every single movie Channing's acted in so far. I found out the filming locations are all in the heart of Vancouver BC. Holy cow. Jericho Beach, Granville Mall, Point Grey Secondary School, Thunderbird Stadium, University of BC, Vancouver College. Robert Hoffman is goodness too.
Some are born great, Some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.
Right, okay. I think I'm going to spend a while in the pool now. No more excuses for lazing around, it's all in the mind! Then I'm going to pick up Twelfth Night again and read it thoroughly, this time to do some cross analysis. And I thought I'll never pick up Shakespeare again.

Rogue Crocodile! I wanna watch it. Basically it's about 'a group of tourists who fall prey to a giant man-eating crocodile while touring in Australia'. Best part is, MICHAEL VARTAN'S the lead! Haha. The movie's actually titled Rogue but Singapore had to be so special and change its name to 'Rogue Crocodile', how uncool. -.-Phantos is having an outing today at 2pm. I only just read about it which is obviously too late! Lol nvm. I bet Elaine isn't even aware of it! Haha. There's also a mass outing this Sat to Sentosa. I'm still unsure about going. Perhaps by Fri I'll have made up my mind.
AIR SUPPLY (21st June) & THE CLICK FIVE (1st June) in Singapore! I'm contemplating if I should attend their concerts... Anw, back to my Alias marathon for now! Seasons 2 & 3. Guess how old Michael Vartan is in RL? You'll be in for a shock. He's 40 this year but still looking damn fit! x)

I caught up on some reading and movies recently. Just finished watching The Outsiders on youtube. Nothing beats the book, it's the bestest book ever!
I'm also almost done reading numerous short stories by Edgar Allan Poe and I've realised that I only enjoy The Fall Of The House Of Usher, especially on film. Old films are so good. I wanted to borrow Great Expectations after watching the film but they are nowhere to be found cos JC Lit students have borrowed it. Nevermind I'm waiting, and I shall better get some rest now.
I'm lovin' Goodbye Blues...

On top of my regular gym visits which is pretty much what I've been doing besides going out for meals, using the com, reading, baking and doing chores for mum,
I went for a jog with dad on Sat.
Played basketball with Des on Sun.
Went for IG outing at Toa Payoh today.

Lots of blogging to do... Let's see.
Last Sat. Celebrated Danny's bday with her and Des. Arcade at PS. Drum mania, I'm stuck at a C grade. So far only perfect score in practice rounds. My aim is an A in Russian Roulette man. Ajisen dinner. Town. Pacific Plaza. Lovely Red/white/black pair of Nike dunks. Both Des and I love it! But I recently bought a pair already. Cute Paul Frank shirt with a band graphic at the front. Alas it's above my budget. Borders. Sat there with Danny reading Neil Gaiman kids stories until her parents arrived to fetch us home.
Sun. Spent with Kat, Yanyan, Regine, Lin, Fer and Weizhen. Barcadi. Raspberry's nice! Des and I brought them down to the clubhouse for pool. Kat left early, we went to the bball court with Des's bball and skateboard. I can finally control my speed on the skateboard. Next step, direction. Dinner. Ordered pizza, smuggled into KTV room. Ate. Watched Spiderman.
Mon. Straight home after school to study for Geog CA. Woman from Music Junction called saying my pre-ordered copy of the SP album has arrived. Buzzing the rest of the day.
Tue. Geog CA. Games PE not as eventful as the week before in which I hit a homerun in softball. Had mock test in listening compre for Chinese lesson. Out with Valerie after school since my secondary school form teacher messaged midway and told me my testimonial wasn't ready to be collected from school. PS to get my CD and shop for vday gifts.
Wed. Math CA. Out with Sri after school. Met at Potong Pasir. Train to Harbourfront. Shopped at sports shops and gift shops. She bought me a stuffed dog for vday on condition I name it Chester. Subway lunch. Toys R Us. Des came. Shopped more. We each bought those personalised name keychain thingys. Standardised skull ornament at the end. Dinner. Picnicked at open deck area in Vivo.
Thu. V Day cum Friendship Day. Des overslept. When I finally got her on the phone, she said she wasn't going to school and I ran all the way from outside her house to the bus stop some 800m away. Reached school on the dot at 7.30. Had Chinese spelling. Found out I topped the class in listening compre with 9/10. Shocking! Went home, fell asleep. Met Des at 7.20. Lot 1 to catch a movie. Jumper. Not bad.
Fri. Mr Adrian Ho not present for physical PE. Mr Michael Tan takes over. Picks up a medicine ball and leads us to basketball court. I predict we're playing captain's ball. Was right. Edwin not on my team, which is a disadvantage cos he's big, tall and athletic. Goals were the basketball poles up to a certain height. I scored the first goal. Dribbling was allowed, so when I got passed the ball, I dribbled all the way, saw a teammate there and passed cos I didn't want to be self-centred and go solo. He took the ball, immediately took aim, missed. Dang, chance wasted there. Michael Tan then tweaked the rules, saying no one-two passes allowed. I think we lost 3-2, but both goals I scored. Second goal's more satisfying cos many of them were guarding me, especially Edwin who was right in front of me, yet I just turned and with my back to goal, tried my luck at a shot. GOOAL!
After school, went back to STC with a few people to collect my testi, then back to CJ for Rockafella. Envy the drummers. I keep saying I want to learn drums... It's about time I put my words into action.

I think Ratatouille the movie released too early. If they released it during this period I'm sure their profits would be much higher... Okay that was just a random thought.
Actually to me, CNY doesn't feel like it has come at all. I haven't even bought new clothes and am finding it hard to absorb the festive mood. I did bake pineapple tarts and cashew nut cookies though. No biggie. Truth is, I don't like those new year goodies anyway. It's a good thing cos I don't want my stamina to drop.

Seems like a lot are doing Science.
SAT
Out with Des, Sri, and Yanyan for badminton. Had a great workout. I sweat more than I would at the gym. After that Yanyan went home and we carried on. Made our way to Funan IT Mall. Ate at Pasta Mania. We finished 1 1/2 bottles of cheese flakes and was so full after that. Bananas in Pyjamas. Des and I's childhood friends. Are you thinking what I'm thinking, B2? Hahaha! Later, went to Peninsular Plaza where there's a shop selling football memoribilia. Aw paradise. Poor Sri had to wait outside for us because the place was tiny and we must have stayed in there for centuries. At night, I watched a Nicholas Cage movie called The Pledge on TV. It was awesome. Aaron Eackhart was in it as this fucked up SWAT cop. :/

Whole body was aching from badminton. Bought more baking stuff. Went back home, baked chocolate chip cookies. I'm so happy it could pass off as Subway cookies. Moulded some into shapes with the cookie cutters. Apparently the cookies are very addictive, cos Annabelle and Sri couldn't stop eating. :D At night, went to Long Beach for my brother's very belated birthday dinner. Saw the phone used in the When I'm Gone music video. It's Nokia 7500 Prism, I think. Slept early that night as I always do after a bad EPL game.

"When we travel, we travel in style, and that is why this time around in Singapore, it's a little bit of a rough terrain around the country... so we're taking an excursion bus, to be able to go everywhere!..." LOL. Rough terrain my foot. ily seb.
I was at the airport the same day, too bad it wasn't the same time.
So I went to New Zealand, and it's really interesting there. Everything you see, people like us don't get to see much elsewhere. On the plane to Christchurch, I watched Underdog, Stardust and The Longest Yard. Immediately after touching down, I already saw sheep along the runways.
In all, I travelled to Dunedin, Queenstown, Milford Sound, Fox Glacier and Christchurch, passing many other smaller towns on the way. My parents and I did self-drive instead of following a tour so we had the liberty to do anything we wanted. I was the navigator for my dad so I sat in the front passenger seat with the big crazy maps. A lot of the roads were long and winding, so your driver must be a really good one. We saw many hitchhikers along the roadside, which was pretty cool. One of them looked like Blake from American Idol.
NZ is full of sheep, cows, deer, goats, horses, llamas and birds especially ducks. There were also many squashed possums on the road, if you count them. There were numerous waterfalls, gorges, hills, valleys, rivers, lakes and mountains, some of them still snow-capped because the snow hadn't melted from last winter. It's like you're looking Geography in the eye. Sceneries were breathtaking.
At Milford Sound, we took a short 1h 45min cruise but it was worth it. The cruise got right up to the waterfalls and mountains and we saw seals resting on a rock. I was out on the viewing decks the whole time despite the rain and gusty winds. The people at the cruise centre said a few dolphins were spotted in the morning before the storm arrived.

We went up by cablecar to Gondola Towers, where dad and I tried the luge. That's the thing they have at Sentosa too and it's only available in NZ, Singapore and Canada. We met a Singaporean who was working there.
At the cafe, I managed to grab hold of newspapers. Finally! My anxiety solved. Liverpool 4-1 Porto, the sports score update read. Also in the headlines, a rapist in Christchurch hitchhiking at 3am in the morning after committing the act. It gave me the creeps and I told myself never to pick any up if ever I encounter them in future, no matter how fit they look!
Then there was an incident the night in Fox Glaciers. I woke up startled because I heard something go bump in the night. It was 4.31am and there was repeated knocking on the toilet window for at least 15 mins. I seriously thought it was burglars but dad was snoring and mum still sleeping. I really didn't know what to do. The noise gradually reduced to one knock every half a minute. I think it was probably a bird pecking on the window. Hope it was anyway.
Soon enough, it was back to the airport to hop on the plane home. I spent a total of 8 days in NZ and had fun there. The locals were friendly and courteous. Even if you were just walking around town and they passed you, they would say hi or ask how you were. When you stopped for them at zebra crossings, they'll wave to thank you. I'll definitely be back there soon, and this time I'll bring along someone who wants to experience the outdoors with me. I want to kayak and bungy there, and basically try all the extreme sports they have to offer.

I was at the airport the same day, too bad it wasn't the same time.
So I went to New Zealand, and it's really interesting there. Everything you see, people like us don't get to see much elsewhere. On the plane to Christchurch, I watched Underdog, Stardust and The Longest Yard. Immediately after touching down, I already saw sheep along the runways.
In all, I travelled to Dunedin, Queenstown, Milford Sound, Fox Glacier and Christchurch, passing many other smaller towns on the way. My parents and I did self-drive instead of following a tour so we had the liberty to do anything we wanted. I was the navigator for my dad so I sat in the front passenger seat with the big crazy maps. A lot of the roads were long and winding, so your driver must be a really good one. We saw many hitchhikers along the roadside, which was pretty cool. One of them looked like Blake from American Idol.
NZ is full of sheep, cows, deer, goats, horses, llamas and birds especially ducks. There were also many squashed possums on the road, if you count them. There were numerous waterfalls, gorges, hills, valleys, rivers, lakes and mountains, some of them still snow-capped because the snow hadn't melted from last winter. It's like you're looking Geography in the eye. Sceneries were breathtaking.
At Milford Sound, we took a short 1h 45min cruise but it was worth it. The cruise got right up to the waterfalls and mountains and we saw seals resting on a rock. I was out on the viewing decks the whole time despite the rain and gusty winds. The people at the cruise centre said a few dolphins were spotted in the morning before the storm arrived.

What you see above is my custom made blogskin. It's weird I know. I've never made one in my entire life, what more just by using your normal paint application. I played around with it a million times but never got what I wanted. It was supposed to be this 3-piece puzzle sort of thing with polaroids for background. This is the closest I've arrived at, all in 2 hours. Failed... but I really like the image.
In other new updates, I want to do odd jobs to help finance myself for the England trip with Nic in 2008. The problem's that job searching is a tedious task. Actually it would be good if I can find an author who needs someone to type out his or her novel. If not I would just consider working at a pet shop or offer dog-walking services. That's the best. Sounds far-fetched? I think so too. It's as if I'm living in Europe.
I think The Game Plan is a very awesome show. The Rock makes a great actor, which kind of surprised me. But The Game Plan reminds me of No Reservations because they have similar storylines except that the former is about rugby and the latter is about cooking. Anyway, the show I'm waiting for is Across The Universe. Beeeatles!
And I feel like time is flying by as usual. It'll be December in a week! I'm also rather gutted at not being able to catch Simple Plan live in Singapore. I'll be on holiday in New Zealand when they're here for their promo. Even if I couldn't get tickets to their private showcase, I wanted to welcome them at the airport at the very least. Now all those hopes are dashed.

First whale, now I think I look like a beaver. You know the one in Narnia? Yeah that one.
I haven't been updating reason being I've been posting a lot over at Livejournal. I've posted 6 more entries over there after Jun 8. And I'm lazy to like post here too. Well basically quite a lot has happened since the last post.
Sun Jun 10 - Went shopping at Vivo. Bought 2 lovely new books from Page One. Dad got a new Nokia 6300 and I love all his games! 3D snake, soccer (football), and sudoku! Soccer is really fun. I wasn't sure of the control keys at first and let in 2 goals, but after a while I finally got the hang of it and emerged to win, England 5-2 Portugal! :D I haven't played till full-time yet. Dad stopped me, hmph.
Tue 12 Jun - Brother's BMT (basic military training) graduation parade at Pulau Tekong.
Thu 14 Jun - Eng and Geog mock exams.
Fri 15 Jun - SS and Lit mock exams + Nic Mok's Birthday! Happy Birthday Nic! We went to her house and gave her a surprise.
Sat 16 Jun - Played tennis for the first time! With Nic and Des. They said I was brilliant for a first-timer.
This week - 6/2 '03 class reunion at Vivo later today. Math and Chem mock exams on Wed and Thu, English oral on Friday, tennis again on Sat and an evening barbeque with the usual classmates.
These things keep me busy, but I kind of like it! At least it's not work, work, work till I drop. That would be too much. Oh by the way! KEWELL'S COMING TO SINGAPORE! Okay I meant with the Australian football team but still, he's one of my favourite LFC players although he's only played twice this season due to injury. People I like always get injured. :/ Anyway, Nic is going to see if her dad can get tickets to the match.
And OoTP hurry come! I wanna watch Sirius on screen. And cry. Also, I have yet to pre-order TDH. Going to order by this week. Goodbye!

Blogger's working properly at last. I caught Pirates Of The Carribean: At World's End at the cinema on Monday after Chinese O's. It was a great movie, but I can't decide between PoTC 2 or 3 because to me, both are equally good. I didn't really enjoy the first installment which I caught on DVD. Now I want the soundtrack because I love Hoist The Colours a lot. The other songs are awesome too.
Well I've got nothing else to say except I don't know if I should drop A Math.

I met Adel and we made our way to Jurong Point to get snacks and Subway before we crashed Nic's house. Saw all the Liverpool stuff that she bought for herself, which are mostly t-shirts. They're so nice omg. I read her mini How To Speak Scouse book. The first word was abbadabba. Hahaha! Then we settled down to eat our Subway takeaway meals. I had my usual tuna. Hearty Italian bread was sold out though. Craved mountain dew but didn't have. I ate my white chocolate thingy cookie which until now I still don't know what's its actual name.
After that we watched Friends. Okay lah, I can now get most of their jokes. Haha! Previously I didn't even know what's going on... Then Des came and we watched Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack and Sally. Sally's scary. I like the constructed reindeers. Who says my favourite character will be Zero the ghostly dog? Not true okay! At least for once. When you're bored, that show's fun to watch. In contrast, Elmo's World isn't at all.
I can't believe how much I loved Sesame Street during my childhood. I remember having at least two Sesame Street school bags before. My favourites were Cookie Monster, Elmo, Oscar the Grouch and the woolly mammoth creature. I never liked Big Bird. And now I just go o_O when I watch Sesame Street, Power Rangers or Teletubbies. Scooby-Doo and TMNT's still okay though. :D
I wanna watch TMNT and Simpsons the movie. And Nic's mum wants to bring us out to watch Mr Bean's Holiday next Sat! I hope I can make it.

While on the way to Queensway, I asked this question in the car.
Me: Eh, can we go to England before 2009?
Dad: Why?
Me: Because Anfield won't be in use anymore after the new Stanley Park stadium is built...
Mum: We go after your O levels lor.
Dad: No lah, Nov/Dec very cold. 4-5pm already so dark. You want ah?
Mum: Oh...
Dad: We go in June lah.
Me: If want to go must book early you know.
No reply. But my mum was saying something about JC1 being very important, cannot miss etcetc. Aiyah, go during June hols only what, not say going when school's still on. But anyway I think the answer's leaning more towards the yes side. So, yay! (: And you know, I could have gone to Manchester for my cousin's wedding this May if not for O's!
So anyway, I bought a pair of Converse shoes at Queensway. It's the canvas type. Those non-canvas types don't have my size. I didn't initially plan to get Converse in the first place cos they don't really suit me, but we walked around for damn long already and every store didn't have the pair of Nike dunks I wanted in the right size! Annoying.
Speaking of JC, if I can't make it to AC, I've decided that I'll just go to CJ lah. For CCA, I've given up on joining volleyball cos I'm too short! Only RJ offers ultimate frisbee, so that is out of the question as well. There isn't a girls football team. So this leaves me with one more sport that I'm interested in: Canoeing. But it'll suck every once a month, won't it?
Why am I looking ahead? I don't know either. Well at least I'm not living in the past right. I'm trying to MOVE ON! Haha :D

Hohoho! Happy Christmas everyone! I had a ball of a time crashing a certain Marriott executive hotel room on Saturday. Spent the day with Nic, Adel, Des and Peng. We had lunch at the Chinese restaurant before going back to the room to chill out. Then we went to Lido for Night At The Museum (again!). Don't believe what those bad reviews say - it's an awesome comedy. Ben Stiller joins my list of favourite actors! Owen Wilson already made it to the list a couple of years ago. And if you do watch, make sure you stay past the credits to listen to McFly's Friday Night! They cut it though... it only lasts about half a minute! Back at the hotel room, we played Game Of Life! We all had a good laugh. Then it was time for Des to leave. Ordered pizza hut and later, Nic's mum ordered room service for us too. Fried rice and fish and chips kids meal! Everything was way delicious. Watched some MTV awards thing. Unfortunately those songs are not to my liking. I found the programme super boring. Went home close to 10 o'clock that night.

Eh huge spider web in my room! It's one of those almost-invisible kind of spiders. The web is already full of many many small insects lah. It's probably having a big feast up there. Worse thing is that the web's just above my computer - which means it's only on the ceiling right above my head! Eeyur. But it reminded me of Charlotte's Web. Ooh I so wanna catch the movie when it comes out!
Went to the pool with dad this evening. It's been a long time since I last swam! We just lazed around in the jacuzzi talking about my future career paths? Haha. Then I swam a few laps before heading back home. The last time I swam was like during Fun Splash in February! Haha.
So I don't have much plans for this week. Just clearing some of my stationeries, taking down my old Westlife calender and putting up the new one for 2007. Friendlies with Kranji Sec and IJ TP on Tue and Fri respectively. I feel the need to polish up my shooting but time is against me as usual. Oh no.
My sandfly bites still itch! >.<

Yowza. OBS was super fun lah. I would have regretted if I didn't go. Did a very long compo-length reflection about the 5 days. I bet that put you off already huh? Haha. But that's in my LJ anyway. Find me online if you wanna read that one. To start with, Brina, Elsa, Jeslyn, Elo, Charlene, Chi Theng, Gen, Geok Ying, Carmen, Xuanya, Michelle, Jaime and Yunying made up Tenzing.
Basically 1st day was slack. Ice breakers, packing of food and store equipment, basics of kayaking. Halfway disrupted by thunderstorm. Sat under the shelter next to the kayak racks learning how to tie knots and had a look inside the yellow medic bag. I love kayaking man! Was afraid that we wouldn't have any more chances to kayak the next few days. At night did outdoor cooking and slept outside. Couldn't pitch tents cos it was still raining heavily. Yong Kang was our trainer and throughout the camp, he called us princess in this sweet singsong voice.
2nd day. Set off on a short walk to the other campsite. The one that looks like a chalet with all the height elements also. Took us 101 steps to reach the other camp's boundary - I actually bothered to count. Did trust fall and belaying, then the high high rope elements tower. Yong Kang said can see Singapore from the top. Wth. Ate food served at the canteen for dinner. Not bad. At night shared a tent with Elsa, Jeslyn and Elo. The 3E tent. Haha.
3rd day. Land expedition. Embarked on 'Amazing Ubin' which is actually a form of The Amazing Race. The checkpoints were our pitstops and there was a roadblock where a pebble toss game would be played. There were a few fastforwards which entitled us to skip some checkpoints if found. Things like "8 rubber seeds" and "5 golden web spiders" are examples. I found most of the rubber seeds yay. Then change of plans. Yong Kang gave us the option of racing to the roadblock - our finishing line to win the Race, or visiting the lemon aunty. We chose the latter. We were all dying from carrying the haversacks and tents etc. and would gladly like to see a new face and place instead of just jungle terrain. So Tenzing chose to give up the race but get to see more and have a richer experience by visiting the farm. Aunty's curry and lemongrass plants were damn fragrant lah! My antidrugs.
Then went to quarry where Hillary and Nila Utama - the other STC watches, already were. Passed by a buddhist temple where a monk let me carry his adorable puppy for a while! Did quarry jump and captain's ball in the water. Tenzing won! Set up camp a short distance away. Outdoor cooking again. I was like some maggie mee chef. Love cooking man. I was asking them whether there were some more packets of maggie to cook but they all thought I meant there was still some more maggie in the pot. So everyone stuck out their mess tins together all at the same time. So funny lah. Like some tribe rushing to get food lor. After that had to prepare for sea expedition the next day. Peed in the bushes before sleeping that night.
4th day. SeaEx!!! Was looking forward to it ever since I discovered my love for kayaking on the first day! But I missed Liling my kayaking partner. :/ Ended up kayaking with Chi. Was really damn fun despite getting so exasperated with her and we were sort of at loggerheads with each other the whole time. But at least we tried working together and a lot of lessons were learnt from it. Endurance, tolerance, cooperation and determination, to name a few. Being the navigator, I reached the shore first. Everyone had to wash the kayaks and stuff. Yong Kang was being retardedly funny with his "YAY I LOVE KAYAK! I WANT MORE KAYAKS!" in a very childish tone and he purposely sprayed us with the water hose so people would want to grab more kayaks to be hosed with the clean refreshing water again and again. Good ploy man. Shower and outdoor cooking. At night, pitched tents at the jetty area - same area where we camped out at SparkC. Stayed up the whole night chatting with Jeslyn, Elsa and Annabelle. Elo was fast asleep in our tent. Slept for 2 uncomfortable hours.
5th day. Mainly packing, then homeward bound! Glad or sad, I don't know. Maybe a little bit of both. Tenzing was like, hmm...would have been more fun if we were more united I guess. Very sad cos I think Yong Kang was quite disappointed but he didn't say? Hurts all the more. And like what lin says, the trainers get to impact our lives but we don't get to impact theirs as much. I think it's damn sad. He played a huge role in making our OBS journey a fun and enjoyable one. But you know what, no one even bothered to get his contact. No one bothered to find out more about him. I want to meet him again. And say sorry. And for once sit down and have a proper chat as a watch. Is it too late?

Towned with Adel and Nic yesterday. Went to watch Open Season. It's something like Over The Hedge except OTH was way nicer. Nic wanted to watch cos the hunter in the movie is voiced by George from Of Mice and Men. I didn't like the movie but I want Tinkerman! Oh yeah. We bought our Westlife Live At Wembley DVDs. Thanks to Paul (the cine Sembawang guy) for reserving and thanks for asking him to reserve, Adel! :D They were the last 3 copies apparently. I still want Gareth Gates' debut album! Didn't get it yet cos the price still hasn't gone down!

Mr Patrick had a reflection with the class today. He called upon Adel for her thoughts on the year. She mentioned Westlife. Of course this was inevitable. She said the whole year was generally shit except for Westlife coming to Singapore which I agree whole-heartedly. She told him about how I screamed for Shane. Embarassing lah. "Brina can scream?!" He couldn't believe it. Dude of course I can. Anybody can unless they have speech defects.
We've moved on because life has to go on. But I've been constantly thinking of those days. Regine cheekily showed me that date on her handbook. The memories may not be as fresh in the mind anymore, but they are still as impactful whenever I picture those days. That day preparing banners. That day and night at the airport.
